I am thinking of a sea kayak trip to Maine, any suggestions? - sea kayak gear
I'm in school, and go with other kids my age have the equipment and boats, I am looking for suggestions on travel. I think the last week of May or first week of June, for a maximum of ten days. I want to at least twenty miles per day and a cool place for a few days and short stay would be day trips to a plus. I have four or five sites in sea kayaking, camping stoves, etc., etc., I Dayhiker sp, electronics for good browsing, if you have suggestions for you. I want to be camping on islands and in remote areas, not on the beach jumping from city to city

Hello, I am a sea kayaker in the Passamaquoddy Bay area of Maine and a few factors to consider sea kayaking in this area. On the one hand, Maine is a pretty big state with lots of coastline and thousands of empty coast. Unfortunately, much of what "are empty", the islands seem, and are normally illegal, if they can get a license. Second, the water is damn cool, I'm not sure, May / June is the best time of year, unless you are prepared for the cold weather at night and wetsuit or impermeable. August is better and less prone to fog, too. Finally, note that because of the terrain, there are some bad tidal currents in some bays and coves. I strongly recommend going with a guide or someone who knows the region. Try "paddling.net" for a few more details about the area or try to search the Web for tourism businesses in different regions of the country. Some suppliers of equipment can be very useful for paddlers who have their own equipment. I have a playmaker is great, "seascapeskayaktours.com, based in DeerIceland, NB I visited with him, but also information and advice to stay on site, which I later for me. And then there's this website: www.maineseakayakguides.com. Maine TOURISNE page also has a list of all shipments. And finally, the path of unification of the island, Maine - You can, thanks to them for maineseakayakguides place - a large amount of information, lists.
Good luck is a fabulous coastline, everywhere you go!
